Areca nut sheath plates are often formed by self help groups, working from home with low overhead costs. We decided to add style to the products using a family of dies pressing out different sizes of plates and bowls. This found space at Shoppers Stop supermarkets, however was shelved because of high costs and possibly low public awareness of eco-friendly designs. The raw material is suited better for low volume regional supply chains.
